The Buddha Counter is a tally counter that assists daily work for Buddhist. It keeps track of the number of readings and recitations for each item, such as a Buddhas name, sutra, etc, on the item list. The current count is saved to continue counting, whenever you are available to read next time. So you are able to effectively spend time in studying Buddhism principles and philosophies.By using this application, you focus on devoutly reading, rather than on counting number. You can set a target count for each item for a mission. When the target count is reached, it plays a singing bowl sound and shows a lotus image to indicate a mission is accomplished.You have option to reset the counter to start another mission.
The target count is up to one million. A total count is also designed to record the life-long total number of readings.
The total count is not reset by any operations. You can see what you achieve in a straight-forward way.This application uses the-state-of-the-art database management system to manage the records of items. Users can add, delete, edit, and sort items by the friendly user interface. There is no limitation on the number of items on this database theoretically. The only limitation is on the disk space.For convenience, each item is categorized into one of three categories, Buddhas name, Sutra, and Others. In order to support the functionality of a tally counter, each item has its individual target count, current count, total count, created date, and last read date. The sorting function allows you to list all the items in your preferred order. The current supported sorting keys are by name, by completeness in progress, and by the recently-read date.
